New Krishna

Date of Visit: February 26th, 2015
President: BT
The Show: 8
The Score: 7.76

The location for this meeting was New Krishna Indian Cuisine located in a not so attractive area of Sharonville. New Krishna is a modern Indian fair restaurant providing quality northern India selections.

After the disappointment of no shows or late notices Arshad, Phil, Brett, Justin, M*** and Kenny (who were subsequently yellow-carded in their absence) the members proceeded to peruse the menu and order a round of beers. The beers were deemed average priced, chilled and served with a glass. Great selection and quantity of beers was also observed.

The complimentary papadam's were excellent and everyone who ate them enjoyed the tamarind chutney. The menu had an excellent selection of mains - sea food, goat and chicken in the form of vindaloo's, tikka masala's and jalfrezies. Each curry was ordered on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the lowest, 10 being the hottest. This provided an excellent way to gauge the 'manhood' of each member, with most going for an 8 and Josh Falter opting for a 4. President Taggart redeemed himself by opting for a 6 and unknowingly ordering aloo vindaloo to share with the table. There were 17 different breads and nans, 3 types of desserts, 3 Indian beers, imports and top shelf hard liquor along with a few wines. There was an issue with member Aaron receiving his main before his nan.

Most everyone ordered a starter and those that didn't enjoyed the graciousness of other members sharing the plentiful portions they received. The mains followed and most were accompanied by naans with the stuffed naan being the most talked about. The general consensus was that the food was excellent, although it was understood the spice could have been a little hotter. Portions were generous, the samosas and other breaded starters were a bit heavy with the breading but had very good flavors.

President Taggart exercised rule 58 by tabling an amendment to the Constitution. President Taggart's proposed motion was to require all members wear dinner jackets or vests, ties of any sort optional, to improve the appearance of our club and group photos. Member Murray seconded the motion and with over 50% member attendance the motion was lost; 2 in favor, 6 not in favor.

Overall the meal was excellent, the atmosphere was clean, inviting and reflected that of Indian culture. Tapestries and prints were on many walls with the faint sound of Indian music in the background. Free WiFi was also offered. Service was outstanding with A.J. and Goat delivering our orders without haste and always referred to us as "sir". Heat was a bit weak and starters were heavy with the breading.

An excellent showing of members led to a very enjoyable evening among friends.
