| This month’s gathering started off with a happy hour at buffalo Wings and Rings. The President immediately failed by putting in the monthly invite that it was a BW3 location and also being late to the gathering. The President answered with “what difference does it make”.
The small party of 6 moved on to Indian Spice Train and were promptly seat by an awaiting Mike, the owner of the venue. From here on out the evening only got better and better and will go down in history as the most magical evening in CASACC history. As we were being seated and greeted by Mike like the royal group that we were, without asking poppadum’s were being placed on the table. Mike clearly knows how to treat the group and show it the respect it deserves. The group was seated and drinks were ordered. Two items of business were quickly worked through by this efficient team. The first was the yellow card for member Eslinger. He cancelled the day of the event without proper notice and will be dealt with swiftly. The second item that was voted on and approved was one of the most magnificent events in group history. The members were giddy with delight at the idea and could hardly wait for its implementation. By unanimous vote the “Kadai of Honour” was created by the group. The KoH will be an enshrinement for only the greatest most honoured members of Curry Club. If voted in they will have lifetime and afterlife privileges of being a CASACC member and can never be removed from the club. Their names will be mentioned only in hushed voices and songs will be song about their achievements within the club. The first member of the KoH was voted on and approved for enshrinement and that member is Justin Henderson. Kadai level member Henderson was in tears during his acceptance speech. As the first member of the KoH one can understand why he was so moved emotionally. The club’s by laws will now be changed and updated to include the KoH and it’s members, Member Holley will be distributing the updated charter shortly with the KoH in there. The group moved on to the meal which was amazing and IST kept it’s high standards that it has come to be known for. Everyone agreed that the meal was second to none. Always one of the most controversial aspects of every restaurant was quickly put to rest as the members all agreed that IST has the cleanest restrooms the group has ever visited. Mike is known for his high standards and always comes through. There is not much else to say about the meal, the shorba, the curry and everything was perfect and the score reflects this. Just when the group was paying their bills and about to vote the evening was taken to even a higher level. Mike came out of the kitchen and apologised for not spending more time with the group. To make up for this, the whole group was given a vodka shot by Mike. I would like to just take a moment to Thank Mike for his hospitality. He is truly a supporter of the group and our scores reflect how great his restaurant truly is. He is the best owner, chef and CASACC supporter this group could ask for. Just a great meal and evening spent with the group and Mike. I have no doubt IST will be this years repeat champion. Next month’s President will be Adam Leonard. |
