Date of Visit: March 29, 2018
President: Josh L.
The Show: 5
The Score: 6.08
TL;DR of the evening:
Longer Summary of the evening:
We begin our story earlier in the day when the total member count for the restaurant was 9. 9 dedicated curry specialists willing to ignore the calls of spring for a greater purpose. Would those 9 last? Of course not, that’s why there are only 5 scores above.
Before the evening festivities began it seemed disaster was already beginning to strike. Members Amos and Eslinger were struck down by colds. Both were willing to pass on curry in order to keep the rest of the club healthy. Their sacrifice was noted (and reported to the president in a timely manner) and their company was missed. This brought the total member count for the evening down to 7.
Fast forwarding to the evening festivities, drinks were had at MVP Sports Bar and Grille. A mostly empty bar with not much going on, including the number of CASACC members, which was a grand total of 2. I would like to note that both members were holders of the most valuable CASACC member award which was given at the 2017 celebration. It was no coincidence that only these two members would show for pregame beverages. The member count for the evening remained at 7.
At Delhi Palace, 5 members seated at a round table would wait for the others to show… is how it should have went. Shortly after being seated, the group discussed the missing members – Members Falter and Dixon. It was discovered that member Falter had his own disaster to take care of in the form of a young protégé needing stitches. Sadly, a yellow card had to be issued due to the lack of notice on the cancellation.
Member Dixon, although close, had his dreams of curry suddenly turn nightmare – a nightmare of potholes and no hope for curry. Member Dixon was quick to report the incident to the President and provide proof(pictured above). The picture and sad tale was shared to the table. It would seem the evening curry would be limited to just 5 CASACC members. With all accepted members accounted for, the group was ready to order food, discuss official club matters, and share a toast to Alan Patten.
Official Club Matters Decisions:
- Brad is chief website updater
- Member JJ(silly name) – Voted to stay
- Member Henderson – Allowed to stay if and only if he responds to the group with the following key phrase “I will buy dinner for the group next time I attend”
- Member Kaplan volunteered for July’s president if 10 members are willing to attend a curry cooking class for $75 per person. Email to follow report to gauge interest.
Overall summary of the deliberations:
The Good:
- Matt Butler is President and will surely provide the group with free food again in April.
The Bad:
- Spice levels and overall taste were not consistent with each dish – from good to bland
- Long wait despite the small table
- Check not separated. The group had to walk up to register and repeat order.
The Ugly
- Beware the ides of March… or something.
