Curries 2019

Date of Visit: August 29, 2019
President: J. Lukas
The Show: 7
The Score: 7.99

For the third time since its inception, CASACC found itself dining once again at the simply named restaurant, Curries. Among the group, the restaurant had become best known for following a key tenet of the CASACC constitution, bribery, by tactfully placing free appetizers on the table throughout the evening.

With free appetizers on their minds, the group quickly settled and started the evening off with complementary poppadoms, chutney, and dosa (thank you member Kauffman for the suggestion and pitching in).  It was quickly noted that the poppadmons were very good despite the missing red chutney and the dosa worthy of previously heard praise.

Orders were taken, a toast to Alan Patten was given, and official club matters were discussed.

Official club matters:

  • CASACC has room for new members. Feel free to invite others to bring our numbers up.
  • February report is missing for 2019 (My calendar shows the Tiki Bar)
  • 4th of July festivities hosted by member Falter. What’s going on here?  Leom is very concerned.

Although Curries did not hit the mark from the first visit that was led by ex-president Butler, free appetizers would still be had in the form of fancier poppadoms. The majority of the group thought their food was very good noting that the flavor was top notch while others thought it wasn't bad, it wasn't good but it was slightly above average. The more chicken sensitive member of the group noted some inconsistencies with how the chicken in their dish was cooked – some pieces were perfect while others were very rubbery.

Overall summary of the deliberations:

The Good:

  • It’s gongura chicken
  • Free appetizers

The Bad:

  • Check not separated. The group had to walk up to register and repeat order.

The Ugly

  • Crooked flags
