The Report

A little delayed but never forgotten. It was great to be back amongst actual people and fellow curry enthusiast again. It was great seeing everyone.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the pre-dinner drinks, but I heard it was well attended and a good time.

When we arrived at Ambar it brought me great memories of our past dinner and the very tough and tight parking lot. More on the parking lot later. 😊 As a few of us sat there chatting when the group from pre-drinks showed up. We all had a very tough time understand who brought the heavily bearded homeless looking man from UK was. It appears Leom took Covid19 time off a little harder than most, it appears he hasn’t seen a barber, or worse a razor. After all the pleasantries and members joined us, we seemed just to sit around and chat for a while. It was great seeing the group together again.

Things started a little different this time. There was no complimentary poppadum, as president I’ll take this one. When calling and scheduling our event they were excited to hear were coming back. They stated they had been closed for the last few months due to the Covid and I made an executive decision to not push asking for them. All seemed to understand, and we moved on.

Dinner was excellent and the scores seem to represent it. I think most were happy to be eating Indian food again and this hit the right spot. Even though they placed us outside in the back of the parking lot on what looked like brand-new patio tables, the service was as good as I remembered it was last time. I don’t think many realized if food took longer than normal or not being that we were all happy to see each other.

I would have to say the most exciting part of the entire night was when a restaurant patron was trying to leave the very tight parking lot, they seemed to not realize how close Member Holly’s car was behind his. I believe he lightly backed into him multiple times and if it wasn’t for Member Levy confronting the elderly man, he may not have ever realized he hit the car behind him.

Overall summary of the deliberations:

The Good:
• Seeing everyone again
• The food, dinner was excellent.
The Bad:
• Parking Lot
The Ugly
• Parking Lot
• Untrimmed beards 😊
Next President: Mr. Butler

Final Average Score: 8.6
