The Report
The location for this month’s meeting was Bombay Brazier in Montgomery. Most were very happy that they were simply eating in a restaurant with the word Brazier in the title. The spot was only 7 minutes from the office unlike the last place that was located in a small southern province in India. The evening started with drinks at the Corner pub which is next door and most everyone arrived at the restaurant on time. We started with the traditional toast and then moved on to business. The following items were voted on and approved. 1. The June meeting will be moved to the last Wed of the month due to the IT picnic on Thursday. 2. RJ Poddar was accepted in the group on a unanimous vote. 3. We did remove two members from the group for failure to appear 4 times in a row. It is worth noting that Arshad appeared with 3 seconds to spare before receiving the axe.
The restaurant started out on a good foot by providing the group with free Poppadum’s. By the time these had been served the only yellow card of the evening was issued. Nathan Murray was issued the card for openly bragging to other members of the group that he does not care about the rules in the charter and will not enforce them. The yellow card was issued with a stern warning to Mr. Murray about the need to maintain order in the group. The meal progressed through the evening and everyone was very happy with their selections. The proper meals were delivered to the right people and everyone got the right heat. Many of the group were simply impressed with the number of guns, spears and elephant tusks on the walls. This alone put the restaurant above the rest. We did have one catch which now appears to be a theme for the places we go to. The restaurant ran out of Taj Mahal beer. Overall the feedback on the food was very positive. The scores were tallied and the place earned one of the highest scores of all time at 8.507. This was very good considering the number of people there that voted. There was one caveat to the voting as the bills arrived after the vote. Most people thought that the price would have reduced their vote. This was dismissed as them just being cheap. A new president was selected and josh Falter will be planning the May event. The evening came to a close and most moved back to the bar next door to continue drinking.
