Delhi Palace

Date of Visit: February 23, 2017
President: A. Hoy
The Show: 10
The Score: 6.94

(Additional Yellow cards)

Eric McConaha – Did not respond to meeting invite.

Eric Eslinger / Ariel Levi – responded Tentative to meeting invite.

The evening started off with pre-dinner drinks at MVP Sports Bar with a respectable showing of roughly half of the evening’s participants.  Member Holley arrived first prompting a warning safety message to the remaining membership and requesting immediate assistance.  Upon further inspection, no safety concerns were identified although Member Amos commented that it appeared the barkeep would probably look the other way as long as you tipped her well.

Following drinks, we arrived at Delhi Palace and were seated promptly.  Additional tables and space were added as more members arrived.  Most of the members forgot that Delhi Palace is BYOB, prompting a last minute beer run for provisions.  Complementary poppadums and chutney were requested and quickly delivered. The poppadums were crispy and fresh.

Once the poppadums were consumed and the remaining membership returned from their quest, the President toasted our founder and moved onto business.  This moved quickly as there was no old business, new business, or members requiring voting.

Dinner proceeded with efficient order taking.  However, when the food arrived it became apparent there was a significant breach in etiquette as the members were left with starter plates rather than getting new plates with the dinner course.  This incensed Member Thomson and was reflected in the final scores.

As the scores and reviews were collected, the general concensus was the food was tasty although slightly low on the spice scale.  The music and décor was acceptable and the bathrooms were excellent.  When the bill arrived members unfortunately had to recount their dish since it was all on one check.  However, this was accomplished quickly and with minimal confusion.

The final score for Delhi Palace was 6.94, 0.65 below its previous score of 7.59 in 2015.  Sadly a reflection that not all venues are continually improving.

Ryan Kaplan will take on the mantle of the Presidency.
