Date of Visit: January 26th, 2017
President: AL
The Show: 13
The Score: 7.66
(Additional Yellow cards)
Matt Butler/Joni/Ariel/Eric McConaha – Did not respond to meeting invite.
Rob A. & Brad T. – Accepted and did not show
The evening began with a quick trip to the Blue Goose. Attendance was higher than expected with over half of the total attendees coming in for a quick pre-dinner brew.
Upon arriving at New Krishna (not visited since Feb 2015) we were guided to our table. Though the esteemed president had requested 15 seats, there was only places set for 10. Justin Henderson took a break from his busy schedule to make an appearance, thus preventing his impending removal from the club. Poppadums and Chutney were requested and quickly delivered. General consensus was both items were fairly tasty.
The evening proceeded as planned. Dinner was highlighted by our courteous waiter asking, “who had the 5-6 spiciness?”, to which Mark said he had a 4. This was his dish. The spiciness ended up being correct, but more on that later. When passing out the Naan, the waiter would bring it out by type , for instance, the 3 garlic naan were given to the first person to raise their hand and were left to us to distribute.
Most reviews of the restaurant were favourable. The naan was praised several times. The spice level was generally 1-2 notches below where it should have been. The authentic music was a major plus. More than one person mentioned great bathroom experiences.
“This is the best naan I’ve ever had” – Josh
“Probably the nicest bathrooms I’ve seen in an Indian restaurant.” – Tyson
“I’m just happy to get time away from my kids and wife.” - Anonymous
One final hiccup occurred when we were each told to approach the counter and repeat our order to pay our bills. When the dust settled, New Krishna came away with a 7.66, a mere .1 different from the original score of 7.76. Another testament to the consistency and fairness of our rating scale.
Aaron Hoy has ascended to the highest seat in all the land.
