Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine

Date of Visit: April 28th, 2016
President: A. Hoy
The Show: 12
The Score: 6.15

For this dinner, the CASACC members ventured into the wilderness of the West side.  The evening started with libations at the Lucky Turtle.  Although initially disguised as a liquor store, the Lucky Turtle was a surprisingly hospitable drinking establishment.  Those members who were able to locate it were rewarded with a substantial and high quality tap list.  Unfortunately, those members were also subjected to the entrance of member Eslinger wearing jorts.  The presence of the jorts persisted throughout the rest of the evening.

Following happy hour, the CASACC members travelled across the street to join the remaining membership at Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine.  Some members had already identified the location as BYOB (a fact sadly unmentioned by the establishment ownership) and had procured beverages for the group.  After a brief table reorganization, seats were located for all members.

Complimentary poppadums were provided and the membership joined in a rousing toast to our founder Alan Patten.  Orders were quickly taken from behind the bar to increase expediency.  Yellow cards were handed out to Sven, Nathan Murray, Joel, and Aditya for late cancelations or complete lack of response.  Old business was covered and it was noted that the planned Constitutional Assembly had not been organized as previously voted and approved.  Member Tozier again took on the responsibility to plan this event in a brave attempt to clear his name.  At that time, dinners arrived with mixed reviews from the membership.

Some members were very pleased with the heat and flavour of their dishes noting that the food made up for the lack of ambience.  Other members mentioned lack of heat, scarcity of meat or rubbery meat in their dinners.  This dichotomy resulted in polarized scores at the end of the evening.  However, generally all members agreed that it was some of the best looking service we have had.  This was factored into some of the scores.

Nearing the conclusion of dinner, the highly rumoured and much debated arrival of member RJ occurred.  Although, his arrival was egregiously late, member RJ was let off with a warning and fined the cost of the first round of after dinner drinks.

Member Lukas agreed to take on the mantle of the Presidency.  At that time, checks were paid, the group photo was taken and the membership dispersed for the evening.
